All parents seeking to have their child baptized should call the parish office at 219-661-0644.

Your baby’s Baptism is a time of celebration and joy. We want it to be the best possible experience for you and your family.  The family should be registered parishioners before requesting a sacrament. Parents must complete an online course on Catholic Baptism.   We ask that you contact the parish office at least six months before the time you would like to celebrate your baby’s baptism.

When a child is baptized in the Catholic Church, parents have a responsibility to continue to bring their child up in the faith, which includes bringing them to Mass, enrolling them in Faith Formation/Religious Education, preparing them to continue to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation, and teaching them to love God and neighbor.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated during Mass at our weekend liturgies. Baptisms are not celebrated during Advent or Lent.

Children age 7 or older in need of Baptism have special classes. The Church requires children 7 and older to make all three Sacraments of Initiation together. Your son/daughter would prepare for Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation. Adults seeking Baptism are welcome to join OCIA (the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) to prepare for Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
